Vice-President, International Right to Life Federation

In 1978, Jim interrupted a successful 10-year career in his own wholesale/importing business to become the Toronto Chairman of Campaign Life. In 1987, he became the President of Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) Canada, which was created from the amalgamation of Campaign Life and Coalition for Life.

CLC is a national pro-life organization working at all levels of government in Canada to secure full legal protection for all human beings, from conception(fertilization) to natural death. It is the political branch of the pro-life movement in Canada, working with the grassroots to get pro-lifers elected to public office and defeat pro-abortion candidates and incumbents. CLC is also actively involved at the international political level, representing pro-life and pro-family Canadians.

In March 1983, Campaign Life Coalition founded The Interim, Canada's only pro-life, pro-family newspaper. Fr. Paul Marx, O.S.B., founder of Human Life International said this about The Interim, "No pro-lifer can afford not to read Canada's outstanding pro-life newspaper . . . . In my judgment, it's the finest pro-life newspaper in the world." The Interim started the Internet-based Lifesite Daily News in 1997.

In 1994 CLC became involved at the United Nations and has since obtained official UN recognition as an NGO (non-governmental organization). CLC has sent participants to various UN conferences regarding a variety of issues including population & development, human settlements, social development, sustainable development, women, adolescent and children's rights as well as more specific issues such as the International Criminal Court.
